Janet Demmin - Lyman Hall Elementary School
After twenty-five years in classrooms in seven different states and one other country, I am so proud to be recognized as a Teacher of the Year. With each new school and new group of educators, there came a new learning experience for me. I have been at Lyman Hall for ten years now - the longest I have ever taught in one school - and I am so grateful for the staff there! Working and learning together has helped us all do our best for the students that tend our school. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Bronxville, NY; my Master’s from National-Louis University while living in Germany, and I am currently working on my Ed.D. from North Central University. I would not have the confidence to continue my personal educational journey without the encouragement of my colleagues, so I am grateful for their support. It is my goal to instill in my students a love for learning that will take them through their own life. There is always something new to learn and experience.
