Shannon Dasher - Waldo Pafford Elementary School
Several factors influenced me to become a teacher. My desire to see others succeed, the joy I receive from children, and the compassion I feel for others are the main reasons I wanted teaching to become my career.
I feel that I have a lot to offer students. One of my greatest contributions in education is simply the respect that I give my students giving them a productive learning environment. All of my students are aware that I expect nothing less than their very best each day. I have a very special place in my heart for struggling learners. I have taught students in the Early Intervention Program for about six years. These students accomplishments have become my accomplishments. I have been able to take students out of the frustrational range in reading and math to the mastery level. The fact that I can help these children have a love for learning makes me so very proud. I really hope to create lifelong learners.
